The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the American Fisheries Society received it’s charter from the parent Society in August 1983. Membership consists of fisheries professionals and college students from Delaware and New Jersey. A large percentage of the chapter’s membership consists of student’s representing institutions such as:

University of Delaware,
Delaware State University,
Rutgers University,
Stockton State College

The Mid-Atlantic Chapter has its Annual Meeting in the Fall which consists of a business meeting, evening social, keynote speaker, contributed papers, and a poster session.

The Chapter meetings provide students the opportunity to present their research and a $100 prize is presented for the best student paper.
